A young girl gets her " Miracle"

Sarah, who has cystic fibrosis, with her sister on her hospital bed. She was on the tx list for 18 months and has spent the last 3 months in the hospital.....She was allowed to have a double lung transplant with adult lungs after a Judge ruled in her favor. She received them from an anonymous donor and had the 6 hour surgery yesterday.
At 10 she would have only been eligible for lungs in her age bracket first. Second, adolescent lungs, 12-17, and lastly adult lungs. There are over 1,600 adults waiting for a lung transplant nationwide.

Before 2005 all patients regardless of age waited in line ....on a " first come first serve basis."
They now take into account the severity of a patient's condition and the likelihood that their transplant will be successful.

We still wait and pray for SiLas's "Miracle"
The IV drugs aren't working as well as they have in the past.
